Badge clips, pins, and magnetic plates attach ID cards directly to the badge-holder's clothing. Simply pressing the base of a pressure-sensitive clip or bar pin to the back of an ID card forms a long lasting bond between the two. Glue-on clips and pins use adhesives to permanently bond their plastic ABS bases to ID cards. Clips clasp fabric from the wearer's clothing with nickel plated steel (NPS) or plastic shanks.
Bar pins use either safety pins or pins with safety catches, while pin clips use both methods. Magnetic attachments have two parts. One steel plate with pressure sensitive foam tape adheres to an ID card's reverse side, while a second plate, containing magnets, goes underneath the wearer's clothing, for instance on the inside of a pocket.
