"Non-graphic" quality - low or video grade - PVC cards are designed to withstand the moderate demands required of loyalty cards, visitor badges and the like. They are used in dye sublimation printers and are made of either PVC plastic or a combination of PVC and polyester.
Graphic quality cards are stronger. They are fabricated with a polyester core that is sandwiched between layers of PVC. They can withstand the high usage demanded of access, control, and time cards; varieties of this type of card are shown below.
